'08 Points Race Rules

Points Race Daily Schedule-

  Gates open 8:00
  Early morning practice 8:00 - 11:30
  Practice by group 12:00
  Registration closes 12:30
  Drivers Meeting 1:30

Race Format-

  Length – Two 6 lap heats and one 12 lap feature
     
  Start Order – Heat 1 lineup is based on computer draw number.  Heat 2 is inverted from Heat 1.  Feature lineup is based on point accumulation from the two heats, with high points to the front.
     
  Scoring – Heat races pay 30 points to win, 29 for second, 28 for third, etc…  Features pay 60 points to win, 58 to second , 56 to third , etc… While both heats and the feature points count towards season point championships, daily awards are based on feature finish only.
     
  Race Order – Class order will rotate each week with Kid Karts remaining first.

 Spec-

  Tire

Kid Karts use open tires. MG HZ are spec tire for 8-12 year old classes. MG FZ are the spec tire in all other classes except 125 Shifter and Rotax. 125 Shifter’s use open MG tires. Rotax uses MOJO D2.

     
  Fuel Sunoco Standard is the spec fuel for non-Rotax classes. Rotax classes use Sunoco 260GTX (98 octane, unleaded). No fuel additives allowed.
     
  Oil Burris Oil is the spec oil for all non-Rotax classes. Castor or Blend is acceptable. Rotax classes use Motul 800 synthetic oil.

Restricted Hot Grid-

To make it easier to bring friends and family to the races, we have the “Restricted Hot Pit” separated from the rest of the pit area.  Immediately after entering the property you will be asked to purchase either a Pit Pass, allowing entrance to the Restricted Hot Pit, or a spectator pass.  Spectators are allowed everywhere except the fenced track area and the Restricted Hot Pit.  To make this possible, no kart driving is allowed in the unrestricted pits for any reason.

General Rules-

  • Tech will be per the 2008 WKA Tech Manual except as noted.  Concept Haulers Motor Speedway reserves the right to use Common Sense and Spirit of Intent in all decisions.
  • 50mm axles are optional in all classes
  • Cadet chassis are optional in any 8 – 12 year old class
  • Airboxes are mandatory on all 2-cycle engines
  • All karts must have a transponder bracket.  Brackets are available on-site from JET Karting.
  • Transponders are mandatory to be scored in all competition classes.  Racers are encouraged to own a transponder; however, transponders will be available for rental at $10 per event.  Lost transponders are the responsibility of the renter.
  • Track records will be established in the Feature only, available every Points Race
  • The same set of tires must be used for both Heats and the Feature
  • Races will be run in dry track conditions only
  • If there is a rain-out during an event, completed races will be scored as normal.  Any uncompleted races will be scored as a win for all entrants.
  • All competitors have 90 seconds to leave the grid after the class has been released.  This does not apply once all karts have exited the grid.
  • Any class with a minimum of three karts will be run
  • Classes must run at least half of the season to be eligible for year end awards
  • Number panels must be black numbers on white or yellow panels
  • Reserved kart numbers are available with pre-entry of 10 Points Races
  • All karts must pass Safety Tech before entering the racing surface.  Safety Tech stickers must be affixed to the kart, and will be valid for the entire 2008 season.
  • Points are awarded for taking the green flag
  • Crewmembers are not allowed in the track area
  • Absolutely no driving in the pits
  • Flagrant rule violations mayl be subject to loss of points and/or suspension
  • Illegal parts may be confiscated / destroyed
  • Pit Passes are required to enter the Restricted Hot Pit area.
  • DQ's may not be used as drops in season points.

Open practice anytime track is not otherwise used. Call for availability.

Protest Procedure-

All protests must be presented in writing to the Race Director with $75. If the protested competitor is legal, he will receive the earned position and the money. If the driver is not legal, in addition to being disqualified, the money is returned to the protester.
